Shopify Store Audit

Enter any Shopify store URL to get a comprehensive audit of its theme health, live performance metrics, and feature coverage compared to top themes.

What Does the Audit Check?

Theme Health

Checks if the theme is up to date, how it ranks overall, how active the developer is, and what merchants think of it. Each factor gets a sub-score out of 25, totaling a health score out of 100.

Performance

Runs a live Google PageSpeed Insights check on the store (mobile). Shows Core Web Vitals including First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Total Blocking Time, Cumulative Layout Shift, and Speed Index. Compares against the theme's demo performance.

Theme Fit

Analyzes how the theme's features compare to the top 5 themes in the same categories. Shows which features are missing and suggests alternative themes that may be a better fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Shopify store audit check?

The audit checks three areas: Theme Health (version freshness, ranking position, developer activity, merchant ratings), Performance (live PageSpeed Insights scores and Core Web Vitals), and Theme Fit (feature coverage compared to top themes in the same category).

Is the store audit free?

Yes, the audit is completely free. Each audit generates a shareable report with a unique URL that you can bookmark or share.

How long does the audit take?

The theme health and fit analysis complete in about 3-5 seconds. The live PageSpeed check takes an additional 15-30 seconds and loads in the background while you review the other scores.

What does the overall score mean?

The overall score (0-100) is a weighted combination of Health (30%), Performance (35%), and Fit (35%). A score above 75 is good, 50-74 needs attention, and below 50 suggests significant improvements are needed.

Can I audit a store that uses a custom theme?

Yes, but the results will be limited. Custom themes don't have public rankings, ratings, or feature data in the Shopify Theme Store, so health and fit scores won't be available. Performance scoring still works.
